The Graveyard

Harry laughed. "My mom's probably not going to be much better...but...we can try. we can try Blake." he paused. "We'll find a way, there's always a way."

Phil raised an eyebrow, looking like her father for a breif moment. "Auntie Sam's pregn't. Didn' ya hear 'bout tha', Hare? Yer her son. Da won' go fo it for the same reason's."

Harry shrugged. "So? If we bring that up, then she'll let us go just becuase she doesn't like the idea of being too mean to us becuase she's pregnant. I know that. I knew before Dad, purely becuase mom was in the attic again, looking for the baby boxes."

Phil rolled her eyes. "Typ'cal male..." she muttered. "Uncle Jon I mea'. Not ye."

Harry laughed. "I think he's distracted over something. Not so sure what. Mom's also busier, she can't hide things as well as she used to."

"Dis'ra'ted o'er wha' tho'?" she muttered. "Or 'oo?"

Harry frowned. "Mom thinks it's a breathrough. I don't know though. I don't think so he's not any further long then he was before. Not really."

"You've been readin' 'is papers, Hare?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Harry scuffed a foot. "Only when he puts my homework in with them. Lately, if he sees anything that could be one of his papers, it sees to get stacked in his stack. I just need to turn them in, otherwise I'd let it go." Harry sighed. "I've taken to writing down little notes in passable handwriting for him. It's sad though, because he seems to be distracted by something to not even question them."

Adelaide stood off to the side of the cemetery or the graveyard. It was a daily or weekly or monthly, if the weather interfered, to stop by and see the dead. Not that she held conversations with them or even really acknowledged they were dead... Her flat shoes would tiptoe across the flat grave stones and she froze the occasional flower.

No, she came simply because she wanted to. For no reason other than she did...

Her blue eyes, thanks to Steven's contacts glanced over the tombstone she was currently standing in front of. Was it a crime to freeze-blow a tomb? she wondered... probably. The law seemed to have the oddest laws when it came to the dead.
Surely they wouldn't have minded... why should the living? But her days of chaos were few and far between... there had been enough.

A white hand trailed over the grave's inscription as she pulled her hat from her head. Long white hair whipped about her face as she smiled.
"Crushed." she whispered.

Phil frowned. "Som'thin's up, Hare. It's up to us t'figure it out."

Harry thought back to his conversation with Mal. "What are we figuring out?" He asked cautiously.

Phil looked up. "I kno' 'bout Mal, Hare. I'm no' stup'd. I heard 'er talkin' to Lynnie."

Harry shrugged. "I don't want to share secrets that aren't mine to share. Just making sure you won't ask me to tell you something I can't tell you."

"They're in th' past... With Ma, Da, Auntie Sam, Uncle Jon, Auntie Lisa, Uncle James 'n' Auntie Lisa's brother."

Harry laughed. "I thought they'd get through, but I was worried. Oh well. Anyway, what are we figuring out?"

Phil shrugged. "I dunno... Som'thin'. Ma's screwy... Almos' as if som'thin' bad's gonna happen 'n' b' up t' us t'stop..."

Harry sighed and leaned back into the tree beside him. "Ok...so we watch and wait?"

Phil nodded. "Aye. We do."

"How was your day?" Harry asked quietly.

Phil frowned. "I 'most ran outta th' classroom t'day, so many pe'ple were saying 'ow 'sorry' th' were... It was annoying..."

Harry rubbed his forehead. "Yeah, I know. Sorry about that."

Phil glared and formed a knife with her powers and smacked him with the flat of her blade. "Don' say sorry... I'ma kill ye."

Harry shook his head, grinning. "I"m not apologizing for them, only for you having to go through everyone being sorry. I had that today also. I wouldn't wish that on my worst...well, maybe my worst enemy, but no one that I like any more then that."

Phil grinned and said, "Hare, I kno' yer powers 're similar t' mine. Show 'em t' me."
